Until I started coaching I never really understood the value of self reflection. Yes I have done it in my corporate life as part of my personal development plans but I rarely extended those thoughts to my daily life.
The benefits of self reflections are:

❤You notice when you can make things better or react differently to get a better outcome
❤You understand how you fit into and react in your world
❤You build healthier relationships
❤You determine and explore the options that you have in your life at that moment
Journaling is a great tool to self reflect but you can also reflect whilst walking, meditating or even talking with someone you trust.
